


When Jackie understands that he must kill himself in the Otherworld to save Jenny, he walks off the roof of the institution causing a horrific vision of everyone disintegrating around him as well as an earsplitting scream of "NOOOOOOOO!" from the Darkness itself. The Asylum is essentially Jackies subconsciousness and serves as the only part of him holding onto life while the Darkness performs repairs.

Even the Darkling appears in human form posing as a janitor. A few familiar faces appear as staff around the place such as Jimmy "The Grape" being a doctor and a person called Nurse Jenny who is obviously a reincarnation of Jenny herself created to keep Jackie there. The Asylum appears as a mental institution and Jackie is a patient there along with many of his friends. If the Darkness did not create that place for Jackie, when he died (or came near death) he would be sent to Hell and the Darkness would not have a host. Though much like when he's an AI companion, the Darkling will respawn soon after should he perish, with all of the player's kills persisting no matter how many times they may die.In The Darkness II, Jackies Asylum is a subconscious place to Jackie but in reality it is a place where theĭarkness sends Jackie while it repairs massive injury such as when he was out for four days after being shot in the face. Should the player wander into a light source, they will quickly die. Because of his small stature, the player is encouraged to play stealthily during these segments - moving through air vents and executing enemies from behind. Naturally, things don’t go as planned, and. On two occasions during the story, the player will gain control of the Darkling after he is forced to separate from Jackie. As The Darkness IIopens, Jackie explains that he’s bottled up his power for nearly two years, amid worries that it would come to control him completely. Jackie Estacado ( Brian Bloom) has become head of the Franchetti family, and has learned to suppress the Darkness ( Mike Patton ), an ancient demonic force in his bloodline. Though via a skill update, the player may eventually grab the Darkling and hurl at an enemy much like any other object, resulting in the Darkling beating his prey to death. The Darkness II Vinnie accompanied Jackie as he went to the restaurant to have a dinner with the Twins. On his own, the Darkling will scurry around a single enemy giving Jackie the chance to grab him with his darkness powers. While he can still be 'killed' as well-even at the player's hand-he will quickly be revived only seconds after. Unlike the darklings seen in the original Darkness, this one needn't be summoned by the player manually and will instead follow close on his own accord. Just before he dies, the Darkling urges Jackie to go on and finally beat ''the motherfucker'', referring to The Darkness. The realm which Jackie was mentally imprisoned was unfortunately permanently fatal for darklings. You cant be sure, it may be just a Darkness trick to make Jackie. (check the hospital room for some casettes and posters, books and for other things. This game is about the beautiful human mind. This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of Jackie Estacado, a mafia boss possessed by a supernatural force called the Darkness. Though he still wields the Darkness, a malevolent force that has given him supernatural powers, Jackie has suppressed the entity, thanks to guidance from estranged occultist Johnny Powell. In Darkness II.: hospital is the reality, there is no Hell.and yes, Jackie is really dead and he never come back. Though this will also result in his accidental death, as he quickly leads Jackie up to the roof to escape, only to open the doors and die by the sunlight outside. The Darkness II Two years since the events of the first game, Jackie Estacado has become the don of the Franchetti crime family. The Darkling exhibits a strange amount of loyalty to Jackie, even going as far as to help him escape the illusionary 'Asylum' that The Darkness places Jackie in during key moments of the story.

He will also provide some added insight into what the darklings are he confesses that he is but a slave to The Darkness, and will in fact semi-jokingly suggest that both he and Jackie flee and head to Vegas, after The Darkness was temporarily separated from Jackie. Most notably is the fact that he will interact with Jackie Estacado considerably more so, and will follow him throughout most of the combat segments providing minor support. A cockney-accented, foul-mouthed public urination enthusiast, the Darkling in The Darkness II differs over his predecessors during the original in some key ways.
